Will a Kaafir Enter Jannah?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Mahmoodiyah

Question:

Assalamualaikum
I was wondering how one chooses a school of thought in Aqeedah i ask because someone my friends knows who is a follower of the Hanafi Madhab but does not know which Aqeedah to follow i.e. whether Ash’ari or Maturidee

I know most Hanafis are usually follows of the Maturidee school of thought, but this person is thinking of following the Ash’ari school of thought in Aqeedah due to the fact in that school of thought the non Muslims will go to paradise and this persons whole family is non muslim.
My friend was wondering if what this person is doing is correct.
he says this person cares a lot about his family and the reason he wants to take the Ash’ari school of thought is because the non Muslims can go to paradise.
Which they cant according to Maturidee.

Jazaakallah

Wassalaam

Ps. I have a question on this topic which is that both of these school of thought are correct, so on this topic where the Ash’ari say the non Muslims will go paradise and Maturidee don’t, does this mean that in the hereafter both views will be accepted by Allah.
As if the non Muslims do go to paradise then wont this be going against the Maturidee school of thoughts belief.

Forgive me for my ignorance, this question just popped up in my head when my friend told me this about this brothers situation in choosing an Aqeedah.

The preferred opinion of the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaa’ah is that Allah is capable of forgiving the disbelievers on the day of Qiyaamah. However, in Surah Nisaa’, verse 116, Allah states: Indeed Allah does not forgive this, that a partner be associated with Him, but other than that, He forgives other sins of whomsoever He wills. And whosoever associates a partner with Allah, indeed he has wandered away in a far off deviation.” In Surah Ma’edah, verse 72, Allah mentions: “Whosoever assigns a partner to Allah, indeed Allah has prohibited paradise on him, and fire is his abode. And for the unjust there are no helpers.”  Further, Allah mentions: And those who deny faith and reject Our messages, they will be the inmates of the fire, in which they will live abidingly.” (Al-Baqarah, Verse 39). In Surah Ma’edah, verse 37, Allah mentions: They will long to emerge from the fire, although they are never to emerge from it. And for them there is a torment constant.”

Considering the above mentioned verses, the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaa’ah have agreed that Allah will not forgive the disbelievers. Due to the following Aayaat: “Certainly Allah does not go back on promise.” (Aale Imraan, 9). “Allah will say: “Do not dispute in My presence with each other, since I had already sent the warning to you in advance.”

“Words once pronounced are not subject to alteration by Me, nor am I to do the least bit of injustice to the servants.” (Qaaf, 28, 29)

It is not permissible to even ask for forgiveness for those who past away in the condition of Kufr: “It is not (permissible) for the prophet and the believers to seek forgiveness for the idolaters, even though they be a near of kin, after it became manifest to them that, they (idolaters) are the inmates of the blazing fire.” (At-Taubah, 113)

Moulana Shabeer Ahmed Uthmani has written in his book of Tafseer that “This is due to the fact that the abiding of both, the Jannatis and Jahannamis is the decision and wish of Allah, but it is the decision of Allah that the reward of the Jannatis and the punishment of the Jahannamis are not left pending. There is consensus amongst all in this regard.”  (Tafseer-e-Uthmani, Surah Hood, 108)

We are not apprised of any differences held between the Ashaa’irah and Maaturidiyyah regarding this matter. The Ashaa’irah are also of the opinion that the disbelievers and idolaters will remain in Hell forever due to the verses formerly stated.

This is the belief of the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaa’ah which is substantiated by verses of the Qur’an and Ahadeeth. Therefore, one should not maintain a belief in contrast to that of the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaa’ah.

If any person beliefs that the disbelievers will be granted forgiveness and they will not abide in Hell forever, then they will not be forgiven and emancipated from Hell merely due to this belief. Whatever Allah has mentioned in the Qur’an will come to pass.

That person who maintains such a belief without a valid legit proof should feel insecure as his Imaan could be at stake.  (Tafseer-ul-Baidhawi, Vol. 1, Page 362, Surah Nisaa’, 48, Vol. 1, Page 475, Surah Ma’edah, 118, Vol. 7, Page 141. Roohul Ma’aani, Vol. 1-4-7, Surah Baqarah, 39, Surah Ma’edah 118, Surah Hood, 107-108)
