What is the ruling on standing with all your body parts facing the Qibla in prayer? Is there a sound grounding for this?
In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful and Compassionate
It is mentioned in Umdat al-Fiqh a follows:
It will be offensive (makruh) to move one’s fingers or toes away from the qibla.
It is stated in Imadad al-Fattah as follows:
And moving one’s fingers and toes away from the qibla will be offensive (makru), because the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, let one direct one’s limbs as much as possible towards the qibla.’

..(5) it is sunna to face the palm and hands towards the qibla..
(29, 30) and it is sunna to keep the fingers in prostration and to face them towards the qibla.
(32) it sunna to face the toes towards the qibla
(Allama Zuwwar Husain Shah, Umdat-al-Fiqh, pg 104)
It has been reported by Ba’ra that when the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) use to bow, he use to straighten his back, and when he use to make prostration he use to direct the toes towards the qibla.”
Abu Humaid Al-Sa’idi reports, he said to some of the companions, I remember more than you about the Salat of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) And when he used to make prostration he use to put his arms without spreading them or attaching them to the body and his feet use to be directed towards the qiblah.’
