Is there a hadith that Hanafis should not cover their feet in salaah?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh In Mishkaat, on the 8th line of pg 73, there is the proof of Sha’fi women having to cover their feet in salaah. 1. Is there anyway for us hanafis to still practice on this hadith or do we leave it out for some reason? 2. In this case, what is the hadith that says that hanafis should not cover their feet in salaah (meaning from below the ankles to the toes) as some people asking us for our proof as theirs is mentioned on top. 3. How do we answer Imam Shafi’i Rahmatullahi alaih Jazakumullah khair

Answer

(Fatwa: 406/D-116/K=1431)

Almighty Allah says in the holy Quran:

وَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا الآية.

And must not expose their adornment, except that which appears thereof.

Women are asked not to expose their adornment, except that which causes difficulty in concealing, as well as this order contains feet because while walking covering feet with Izar or Qamis is difficult for women, hence, according to Hanafi Fiqh, it is not necessary for women to cover their feet in salah. Yes, in the light of Hadith mentioned in Mishkat covering feet in salah is better for women.
