In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

At the outset, it is important to understand that tablīgh and tadhkīr were commissioned by Allah Ta‘ālā to Nabī (ŝallallāhu ‘alaihi wa sallam). Allah Ta‘ālā himself commands Nabī (ŝallallāhu ‘alaihi wa sallam) to propagate the message of Islam:

يَا أَيُّهَا الرَّسُولُ بَلِّغْ مَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ رَبِّكَ وَإِنْ لَمْ تَفْعَلْ فَمَا بَلَّغْتَ رِسَالَتَهُ وَاللَّهُ يَعْصِمُكَ مِنَ النَّاسِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْكَافِرِينَ

O Messenger, convey all that has been sent down to you from your Lord. And if you do not, then, you have not conveyed His message (at all). And Allah shall protect you from the people. Surely, Allah does not take the disbelieving people to the right path. [Al-Quran, 5:67]

Allāh Ta‘ālā also commands Nabī (ŝallallāhu ‘alaihi wa sallam) to remind the believers:

وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ الذِّكْرَى تَنْفَعُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

And remind, for verily reminder is beneficial for the believers. [Al-Quran, 51:55]

Thereafter, Nabī (ŝallallāhu ‘alaihi wa sallam) passed on the task of tablīgh and tadhkīr to us and made us the flag bearers of this deen:

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: بَلِّغُوا عَنِّي  وَلَوْ آيَةً

Nabī (ŝallallŝhu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said: Convey (my teachings) to the people even if it were a single sentence. [Sahih al-Bukhari, 3461, The Book of the Prophets]

The entire ummah is greatly indebted to the brothers of tablīgh for sacrificing their time, effort, and wealth for carrying out this mammoth task. Despite facing continuous criticism and critique from individuals who themselves do not bother with the affairs of the ummah, they continue with their work only for the sake of Allāh. Yes, being non-‘ulamā’ they are bound to make mistakes and at times very serious mistakes. The point of consideration here is that their mistakes stem from their sheer love for deen and the effort of deen. We advise that you kindly address these issues privately with the senior ‘ulamā’ of tablīgh in your local/district markaz. They will be most suitable for rectifying the mistakes of the common brothers of tablīgh. For the time being, continue working towards the upliftment of deen and make du‘ā that Allāh Ta‘ālā grants the understanding of deen to the entire ummah. Even the transgressors of this ummah are our brothers, imagine those that are working towards the advancement of deen, though they may be misinformed regarding certain aspects. Good character, morals, and love will unite the ummah. The atrocities committed against Muslims daily is a result of our divided hearts. When a house is burning, it is senseless to bicker about the unattractive paint on the walls. If the fire is not extinguished, let alone the paint, there will be no house within a few minutes.
