Bleeding stops for two days and then resumes

Question

My periods started on 6th March 2018 and ended on 14th March 2018, then stopped for two days and continued till today every single day after that except on march 28th 2018 to 1st April 2018, then I bled today on 2nd April heavily, what should I consider my haidh, when should I stop praying. Should I consider today my 1st day of next period and stop praying?

I feel my bleeding will continue this month too for every single day. In such a scenario of continuous bleeding what is haidh for me, when do I stop praying? Should I stop praying from 6th April which was my date in the previous period?

Answer:

The principals of the menstrual cycle and the irregular periods are as follows:

Minimum thuhr (the period when there is no bleeding) is 15 days and there is no limit for the maximum period. Minimum haiz is 3 days and the maximum is 10 days. If a woman bleeds less than 3 days then it will be regarded as Istihaza. In the state of istihaza a woman will be in the ruling of a clean woman except that she will do wudhu for every salah

If a woman bleeds more than 10 days whilst she has a habit of a certain number of days in menses, then the number of days she is habitual to will be regarded as menses and the rest will be istihaza.

If she bleeds more than she is habitual to but less than 10 days then that whole period will be regarded to be haiz and this number will be her new habit in the menstrual cycle.

If the blood ceases for less than 15 days then that whole period will be regarded as continuous bleeding.  (All the above is extracted from Al Lubab fi Sharhil Kitab, pg. 45, vol. 1, Al Maktabatul Ilmiyah)

In your case, you will be considered to be bleeding continuously from the 6th of March till the 2nd of March and for as many days you continue to bleed because the bleeding did not cease for fifteen days in between. You will be in haiz for the number of days you normally bleed and the rest will be considered istihazah. You will remain in istihazah for the number of days you normally stay clean i.e. in the state of tuhr, thereafter the haiz (menses) will start again.

For instance, you normally bleed for 7 days and you be in tuhr for 23 days then you will observe the same cycle if you continuously bleed without 15 days of pause in between.
