The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) with Women, Children, and Orphans

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Abdurrahman ibn Yusuf Mangera

I want to prepare a concise piece of literature for our annual” Mawlid for the women”, on the life of the Prophet (saw) and his relation to females of the family and the non-family members. I wish to highlight the beauty of his (saw) character and his immense compassion to those weak elements of society (including orphans) and his advocation to their good treatment and the giving of their rights. Many in my community only contemplate on his (saw) life in the capacity of a Messenger of Allah (swt) and have scant knowledge of his character in the capacity of an intimate companion, a loving father and an advocator of the rights of the oppressed and vulnerable.

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalamu alaykum

I believe “Ethics in Islam” which is a part of the Sirat al-Nabi by Sayyid Sulayman Nadwi and Shibli Numani is very comprehensive on this subject. This portion of the book has been published separately and is available on www.al-rashad.com

I am not sure if an online version is also available.

Also some chapters of the “Riyad al-Salihin” of Imam Nawawi and other hadith works like “al-Adab al-Mufrad” [Manners in Islam] by Imam Bukhari would also contain something bearing on the subject.

Wassalam
Abdurrahman ibn Yusuf
