Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

To perform Salāt with Jama’at (congregation) in the Masjid is highly emphasized. Consider the following,

Prayer in congregation is superior to prayer at home and at the work place by twenty-five degrees. He who makes Wudhū properly thereafter, walks to the Masjid with the sole intention of performing Salāt, will be elevated by one level and forgiven of one sin. As long as he remains in the place of prayer, the angels will continuously supplicate on his behalf, “O Allah, send your blessings upon him. O Allah, have mercy upon him.” (Rasūlullah e thereafter said,) “As long as you are waiting for prayer, you will be rewarded as you are in prayer.”[1](Sahīh al-Bukhārī)

.

“By the being in whose possession is my life, I intended to instruct that fire wood be gathered thereafter, I would order the Adhān to be called out for prayer; I would then order a person to lead the prayer while I would remain back to set alight the houses of all those who had not left for the prayer.’”[2]

Accordingly, you should try your utmost to go to the Masjid to perform your prayers with Jamā‘ah especially considering the fact you are close to the Masjid.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
