Answer

In the name of Allāh, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalāmu ῾alaykum wa Rahmatullāhi Wabarakātuh

1. If you are not sure about the income of your customers as to whether it is permissible or not, your earning will be Halāl. However, to understand what exactly constitutes as assisting in sin and thereby causing one’s earning to be impermissible please read Fatwa #17597 on our website www.askimam.org

2. Allah is Most Gracious and Most Merciful. He says in the Noble Qur’aan,

“Oh My Slaves!  Do not despair in the mercy of Allāh Ta῾āla. Verily Allah forgives all sins[1]

(Surah Zūmar, Ayyah 53)

In a hadīth narrated by Anas bin Mālik radiyallāhu ῾anhu, Rasulullāh Sallallāhu ῾alaihi Wasallam said, “Allāh is more happy with the repentance of his slave than one of you (would be happy) if he suddenly stumbled upon (i.e. found) his camel after having lost it in a desert (and given up any hope).”[2] (Bukhāri sharīf, Vol.7-8, Pg.189, Dārulfikr)

Therefore, you should make firm intention to reform and never repeat the sin, then surely Allāh Ta῾āla is Tawwāb (Most Forgiving). Finally, we suggest that you remain at your residing country.

And Allāh Ta῾āla Knows Best
Wassalāmu ῾alaykum
