When I visit my non-Muslim relatives during the holiday season, we sit and eat together. They then perform a prayer over the food before eating it and I then eat with them, confining myself to vegetables and bread and avoiding the meat. Does this prayer, however, affect the legality of eating this food if their prayer comprises “thanking the Lord for the blessing of food that came to us through our Master Jesus”?

It is permissible for you to eat the food that is legally permissible for us to eat [h: such as the vegetables and the bread, not the unslaughtered meat]. The mentioned prayer (or any other prayer) does not affect the permissibility of eating food that is normally permissible to eat.
الجواب : يجوز لك أن تأكل من طعامهم المباح لنا شرعاً ، ولا يضرُّ دعاؤهم المذكور ولا غيره في حلِّ أكل المباح من الطعام .
