Prophet’s (SAS) advice to Maaz (ra) on his departure to yemen

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by ShariahBoard.org
Please state the long list of advice provided by the Prophet (SAS) to Maa’z (R.A.) on his departure to Yemen. This is when the Prophet tells him that when he comes back he will not see the Prophet but his grave.
The prophet peace be upon him advised maaz r.a. when he was going to Yemen. While the prophet peace be upon him was on foot and Maaz r.a. was riding on the camel. After finishing with the necessary details of the advice he said to Maaz that he might not see him when he returns from his mission. Maaz started to cry at this and the prophet peace be upon him turned his face away from him looking in the direction of Madina. Perhaps it was because he saw the intolerance of Maaz. The prophet was also touched so he said that the best amongst or nearest to me is the one who is fearful of Allah s.w. no matter where he is. Now, did he also issue some other advice? Different sources give us different narrations such that one of the thing he said about the people Maaz was going to is that
1.)
You should invite them towards Islam
2.)
If they accept then invite them towards prayer.
3.)
Then towards alms giving.
4.)
Give them glad tidings
5.)
Share with them a talk of ease.
6.)
 Not act with severity.

There is another narration that says that he said there are ten things. Some of which are:
1.)
Don’t associate someone with Allah s.w. whether you are killed for it or burned for it.
2.)
Don’t disobey your parents even if they talk about leaving one’s wife.
3.)
Don’t miss the obligatory prayer because one who leaves this Allah s.w. will be absolved of his responsibility towards him.
4.)
Don’t drink because it’s the root cause of all sins.
5.)
Stay away from disobeying because it brings Allah’s s.w.
displeasure.

6.)
Never run away from the battlefield even if all the people are dying or if you have to face your death you should remain firm.
7.)
You should spend from your money on your family.
8.)
Keep them in guard and use warnings of force if you have to.
9.)
Keep reminding them of their duties to Allah s.w.

These reports are mentioned in Mishkat and Thirmidhi.
