What is meant by the belief that Prophet (saw) is both noor (light) and bashar (man)?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by ShariahBoard.org
What is meant by the belief that Prophet (saw) is both noor (light) and bashar (man)? I don’t understand what this means?
The Koran has termed the prophet peace be upon him as a human being. Whatever we find in the Koran it is necessary for us to believe it, he was a human and not a jinn or an angel. He was not from some other species. He was termed in the Koran as light and some people think of this that prophet peace be upon him was a light, which is wrong because the Koran is also termed light. It is not right to say that you either believe in him as a human or light and in both cases you will be a kafir. The prophet peace be upon him was an enlightening human being. He encompassed light or ‘nour’ in his qualities this is what we have to believe. He was sent as a human, but he had in him such qualities that it is not easy for others to have. The first thing that Allah created was the noor of the prophet peace be upon him.
