Is there any narration which mentions that the deeds of the ummat are presented to Rasulullah (salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)?
Answer
1. It has been recorded by Imams Bazzar, Harith ibn Abi Usamah and Isma’il al-Qadi (rahimahumullah) that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said that the deeds of the ummah will be presented to him after his demise.
This hadith has been classified as authentic by Hafiz ‘Iraqi, Haifz Haythami, Hafiz Suyuti and others (rahimahumullah)
Refer: Tarhu-Tathrib, vol.3 pg.297, Majmu’z-Zawa’id, vol.9 pg.24, Khasa’isul-Kubra, vol.2 pg.281 & Faydul-Qadir, vol.3 pg.401.
2. Imam ‘Abdullah ibnul-Mubarak (rahimahullah) in his Kitabuz-Zuhd has recorded a narration from Sa’id ibnul Musayyab (rahimahullah) that every morning and evening the deeds of the ummah are presented to Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam). (Fathul Bari, vol.9 pg.124; Hadith: 5055)
Presentation of salutations
Hafiz ibn Rajab al-Hambali (rahimahullah) states, ‘It has been reported from Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) that the salutations sent upon him by his ummatis (followers) are presented to him on the day of Friday. This has been reported by various sahabah (radiyallahu’anhum), viz. Sayyiduna Awas ibn Awas (radiyallahu’anhu), Sayyiduna Abu Darda (radiyallahu’anhu), Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu’anhu), Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu’anhu), Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (radiyallahu’anhu), Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu’anhu) and others. The most famous of all these narrations is that of Sayyiduna Awas ibn Awas (radiyallahu’anhu). (Ahwalul Qubur, pg.154)
For the exact wordings of these narrations, refer to al-Qawl al-Badi’ pg.318-323
