I would like to ask if the following is authentic:
It is mentioned by Sa’id ibnul Musayyab (rahimahullah) that whenever he faced any difficulties he would recite the following
اللهم انك مليك مقتدر ما تشاء من امر يكون

The full narration is as follows:
Sa’id ibnul Musayyab (rahimahullah) states: I went to the masjid once, thinking it to have been already morning [time for Fajr salah]. It turned out that there was still a large portion of the night remaining. I was the only one present and I heard the sound of some movement behined me, which scared me.
I then heard a voice saying: O the one whose heart is filled with fright, do not be scared or startled. Recite:
Allahumma inna Malikun Muqtadirun ma tasha-u min amrin yakun
thereafter ask for whatever you wish.
Sa’id ibnul Musayyab (rahimahullah) says: ‘Whenever I asked Allah Ta’ala for anything [after reciting these words] He granted it to me.’

Imams Muhammad ibn Fudayl ibn Ghazwan and Ibn Abi Shaybah (rahimahumallah) have recorded this narration with a weak chain that is suitable for the purpose of learning a du’a and practicing upon it.

Quotations regarding accepting weak Hadiths for du’as
1. Imam Hakim (rahimahullah) has mentioned that it is perfectly correct to recite those du’as that are reported in weak Hadiths. See: Al Mustadrak vol. 1 pg. 490.
2. Hafiz Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah) has also stated the permissibility of reciting du’as and dhikrs that have been reported with a weak chain.

3. Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) has said the same too.
