A follow up query on the Hadith regarding kindness to relatives wiping away sins

I have read the Hadith answer regarding kindness to relatives wiping away sins.

I have heard another Hadith wherein Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) asked him ‘Are your parents alive’ and not just ‘Is your mother alive’?

Are these the same Hadiths?

Answer

This narration is recorded in Musnad Ahmad, Sahih Ibn Hibban and Mustadrak Hakim with the words ‘Are your parents alive?’

(Musnad Ahmad, vol. 2 pg. 14, Sahih Ibn Hibban; Al Ihsan, Hadith: 435, Mustadrak Hakim, vol. 4 pg. 155)

Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has recorded the Hadith with the words ‘Is your mother alive?’ See here.

Both versions may be quoted.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
