‘Abdur Rahman ibn ‘Awf (radiyallahu ‘anhu) leads Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) in Salah

I understand that there is a Hadith which states that Sayyiduna ‘Abdur Rahman ibn ‘Awf (radiyallahu ‘anhu) lead Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) in Salah. Is this narration authentic?

Yes, this is correct. Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) was once on a journey and had got slightly delayed. Sayyiduna ‘Abdur Rahman ibn ‘Awf (radiyallahu ‘anhu) lead the Salah. Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) joined and read Salah behind him.

This narration has been recorded in Sahih Muslim, Musnad Ahmad, Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah and Sahih Ibn Hibban through several chains.

(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 274, Musnad Ahmad, vol. 4 pg. 247 and pg. 248, Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah, Hadith: 1514, 1642 and Sahih Ibn Hibban, Al Ihsan, Hadith: 1347)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
