The sanctity of the graveside of Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam)

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

I would like to query regarding a certain quotation in Fadail Haj wherein it is stated that the soil touching the mubarak body of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) is superior to the arsh, is it possible to have anything superior to the arsh?

Answer

This statement is not just a personal opinion of the Esteemed author of Fadail A’mal. Rather, it is the mainstream view of the Ahlus Sunnah, which is credited to Imam Ibn ‘Aqil Al-Hambali (rahimahullah) Demise: 513 A.H. and has been approvingly quoted by the following famous Scholars:

Qadi ‘Iyad (rahimahullah) Demis: 544 A.H.

‘Allamah Subki (rahimahullah) Demise: 771 A.H.

‘Allamah Sakhawi (rahimahullah) Demise: 902 A.H.

‘Allamah Munawi (rahimahullah) Demise: 1035 A.H.

Imam Khafaji (rahimahullah) Demise: 1069 A.H.

Imam Ibn ‘Abidin Shami (rahimahullah) Demise: 1252 A.H.

Personal request

The rank of our Beloved Nabi (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) cannot be fully comprehend by ourselves. These great Scholars who have echoed the statement of Imam Ibn ‘Aqil Al-Hambali (rahimahullah) is sufficient for this matter.

In your question, you used ‘saw’ instead of the full (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam). May I request that you form a habit of saying and writing this salutation in full. It is undoubtedly the nobler option.
