Unintentionally vomiting while fasting

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: During fasting, I got a severe headache (while traveling) and vomited 3 hours before iftar. I tried to take some pills but didn’t take anything and went to sleep. I woke up about 15 mins after the Maghrib Adhan and did iftar. Is my fast is valid?

Bismillaah

A: If you did not eat anything, your fast is valid. Unintentional vomiting does not cause the fast to break.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
