Assalaamu Alaikum Mufti Saheb, Close to our city is a small Mosque and they spent considerable money in upgrading their Masjid. Unfortunately they took the wrong carpet sizes and a lot of carpet has been left over and it is sitting in the basement next to heating and cooling system and for some time it’s a problem because they have to remove it to get the system serviced OR get the system calibrated and adjusted. A Muslim man in the community has come forward and he would like to purchase this left over carpet which is just sitting around. BUT the committee is not sure if they can sell this carpet and put the money to the Masjid because they bought it for the Masjid (Waqf purposes). The committee has asked me to pose this question to you. Jazakallahu khairan.
