Please could you give me the ruling of fiqh for a person who is working for a security company which has many clients including banks and Insurance companies i.e. one may be assigned to work as a security guard for a bank / insurance building or may not, there is not fixed position. The workers are paid by the security company not by the banks but obviously the security company is paid by the owners of the buildings they assign security guards to.
Walaikum assalam,
1. It is permitted to work for a security company is assigned to guard a bank / insurance company, because the work you yourself are doing is permitted, and you are not a means to sin.
When possible [such as when you own your own security company], it is superior and more religiously precautious to avoid such work. It is, in itself, halal, though, and the earnings from it permissible.
2. It would not be permitted to work as a bouncer at bars, night clubs, and the like, because you are then involved in the ‘process of sin’ in a more direct manner.
