1) I wanted to know that if I copy a image from a website (of an animate object) and then transfer it to my mobile phone, would I be asked to put this picture into life on Qiyamat? I did not create the image though.

2) Also if a dog licks you would you need to have a bath or just wash the part touched by the dog?

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

1) There are two aspects to imagery and photography:

a) Taking/Creating pictures

b) Keeping pictures

a) Taking and creating pictures of animate objects, which includes the use of a camera is impermissible in Islam. Numerous Ahadith stress this prohibition:

عن أبي طلحة صاحب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه قال إن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال إن الملائكة لا تدخل بيتا فيه صورة

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Talha (Radiallahu Anhu ) that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, ” The Malaaikah (angels of mercy) do not enter a house wherein there are pictures (of animate objects) (Muslim, #5485, Darul Ma’rifah)

عن نافع أن ابن عمر أخبره أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال الذين يصنعون الصور يعذبون يوم القيامة يقال لهم أحيوا ما خلقتم

Narrated on the authority of Ibn Umar (Radiallahu Anhu) that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, “Those who make pictures will be punished on the day of judgment. It will be said to them, “Bring to life what you have created!” (Muslim, # 5501, Darul Ma’rifah)

Narrated on the authority of Ibn Mas’ood (Radiallahu Anhu) that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, “The people who will be most severely punished on the Day of Judgment are those who make pictures. (of animate objects) (Muslim, #5505, Darul Ma’rifah)

b) The act of storing pictures without actually taking them is also prohibited. The Hadith you have mentioned in your query may refer to the one who takes or creates pictures, but there is also evidence in Hadith to indicate that storing pictures of animate objects is impermissible as well:

Abu Huraira (Radiallahu anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Jibraeel (Alayhis salaam) came to me and said: I came to you last night, but the only thing that prevented me from entering was the presence of pictures on the door, pictures inside the home on the curtains and a dog inside the home. Therefore, order the head of the picture on the door to be cut so that it will resemble a tree. And order that the curtain be cut into two pieces strewn on the floor to be trampled over, and order the dog to be removed”. (Tirmidhi # 2806, Dar Ihya Al-Turath)

2) The saliva of a dog is considered to be najis (impure). If one is licked by a dog, the affected area must be washed three times. It is not necessary to make ghusl.
