Question:

If someone claimed that there was a Prophet that came in between Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and Prophet Isa عليه السلام, has he fallen into Kufr?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

It is stated very clearly in the Sahih Ahaadeeth that there is no Prophet between Nabee SAW and Isa AS:

Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: I am most akin to Jesus Christ among the whole of mankind, and all the Prophets are of different mothers but belong to one religion and no Prophet was raised between me and Jesus.

(Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2365)

Allah SWT also mentions this in the Quraan:

O People of the Book! Our Messenger has indeed come to you, making things clear to you after an interval between the messengers so you do not say, “There has never come to us a deliverer of good news or a warner.” Now there has come to you a deliverer of good news and a warner. And Allah is Most Capable of everything.

(Surah Ma’idah, verse 19)

An Aqeedah (Core Belief) of the Muslims is:

And whatever is revealed in the Quraan and all that is verified from the Prophet SAW regarding the Sacred Law and its explanation is true”

(The Creed of Imam Tahaawi, page 47, Aqeedah 98)

Hence, believing in the fact that there is no Prophet between Isa AS and Nabee Muhammad SAW would be necessary for every Muslim.

Only Allah knows best.
