Is it religiously permissible to call or write someone who has done hajj a haji?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Assalamualaykum Q-A person said that it is bidah to write or call a person who has done hajj a haji because the Sahabah did not call each other by haji is he right?and is it permissible to write haji before some ones name?

Answer

(Fatwa: 1741/261=B/1429)

He is not right to say this. It is not bidah (innovation in religion) to write Haji or to be called Haji, rather it is undoubtedly lawful to write it or to say it to anyone. So far as the matter that the Sahabah had not called as each other as Haji is concerned, the Sahaba had not called any learned Sahabi as Maulana, Molvi or Hafiz, then will it be bidah to call anyone as Molvi or Hafiz? Will it be bidah to call anyone as Mufti or Qari?
