Regarding the meat of aqeeqah what r the orders, should it be distributed among relatives or thepoor, is there any shae between poor and relatives.

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

1) Regarding Aqeeqah my knowldege is that one has to shave the head of the infant and after weighing it and give equivalent amount of silver as sadqa. Regarding the meat of the goat what r the orders, should it be distributed among relatives or thepoor, is there any shae between poor and relatives. 2) Kindly provide me the origin and meanings of the following names for boys a) Raamis b) Rayyaan (pronounced as Raayaan) c) Sharjeel.

Answer

1. The Fuqahaa (jurist) have mentioned that if anybody is blessed with a sibling son/daughter then it is Mustahab (preferred) to name the child on the seventh day and shave its head and give its equivalent of gold or silver as Sadaqah (charity). He should then slaughter 2 animals for a son and 1 animal for a daughter, however if only 1 animal is slaughtered for the son then too it will suffice. It is Mustahab (preferable) to distribute one third of the meat to the poor and destitute and the remaining two thirds to other relatives. 2. Rameez: Honourable. Rayyaan: Quenched, Bright. We have not yet found the meaning of the third name.
