Any basis for Azaan in newborn’s ears?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Tafseer Raheemi

Respected Shaikh Assalam o Alikum,
Is giving Azan in newborn’s ears does not have any basis?.we have been following this practice from our elders.as usual objection is raised against this ptactice by the ghair muqallids that there is no strong evidence for this.

Giving adhan is the newborn child’s ears is Mustahab and there is a strong basis for it in the Ahādith.

Imam Tirmidhi reports on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Rāfi’ (May Allah be pleased with him) that he saw the Prophet of Allah صلى الله عليه و سلم give the adhan of salāh in the ear of Hasan ibn ‘Ali (May Allah be pleased with them both) when Sayyidah Fatimah (May Allah be pleased with her) gave birth to him.

After narrating this hadith, Imam Tirmidhi mentions that this Hadith is Hasan Sahih and that it is acted upon.

Similarly, this narration has also been narrated in Sunan Abi Dawūd.
