What if they stop me from listening to music and remembering Allah Ta’la?

Better to listen to Qur’an. Search on YouTube for Qari Abdul Basit. Listen to his beautiful recitation and enhance your spirituality. Naats with music can give some suroor (joy to the nafs, however, sukoon (peace of mind) cannot be attained through music. Music is the food for the nafs, zikr is the food for the soul, so avoid music as much as you can.
