Islam will always be superior

What is the authenticity of the following?

“Islam is superior and nothing is superior to it”

Answer

Imam Daraqutni (rahimahullah) and others have recorded the Hadith in question on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Aaidh ibn ‘Amr Al Muzani (radiyallahu ‘anhu). Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) has also recorded this Hadith part of a sub heading of a chapter.

(Sunan Daraqutni, Hadith: 3620 and Musnadus Sahabah of Imam Ruyani, Hadith: 783. Sahih Bukhari, before Hadith: 1354)

Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) has declared the chain of narrators as sound (hasan) and further cites another version of this Hadith which mentions the following incident:

Sayyiduna ‘Aaidh ibn ‘Amr came together with Abu Sufyan (who probably was not a Muslim as yet) on the Day of The conquest of Makkah. The Sahabah said, ‘Abu Sufyan and ‘Aaidh ibn ‘Amr [have come]’.

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, ‘Aaidh ibn ‘Amr and Abu Sufyan have come [mentioning the Sahabi first], Islam is more honorable than that, Islam will always be superior and nothing will be more superior than it”

(Fathul Bari, before Hadith: 1354. Also see Faydul Qadir, Hadith: 3063 and Al Maqasidul Hasanah, Hadith: 109)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
