Overcoming Pornography and Masturbation: My Journey Through Prayer and the Hadith

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I tried everything to stop pornography and masturbation but it work only temporary. I decided to increase my good deeds, so I started to pray tahajjud. I came across this Hadith: Some people of my nation will come on the Day of Resurrection with righteous deeds which are as great as the mountains of Tihama, however Allah will make their deeds as scattered floating particles of dust” Thawbaan said: O Messenger of Allah, describe them to us, in order not to be among them, the Prophet PBUH said: ” they are Muslims like you, they are your fellow citizens, and they perform night prayers as you do, but when they are alone they transgress the limits ordained by Allah”. [Ibn Majah The description fits me 100% because I do all namaz, fast etc. And more specifically, I pray the night prayer as mention in the hadith. Should I stop doing namaz tahajjud to remove me from the criteria because it is impossible to stop this sin as long as I don’t marry?

Bismillaah

A: Get married.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
