To read the verses of Koran for the purpose of seeking blessings in the affairs of the worldly life with the understanding of their meaning and application in issues of life is permissible. Therefore, if someone recites some verses pertaining to traveling for the safe return then it is permissible. In this particular verse there is a reference to an incident where the prophet peace be upon him was instructed to leave Mecca but he was told at the time that he would be returned to the holy city again. In other words, there was consolation for the prophet peace be upon him that even though you have to leave your city now but you’ll come back; and think of this exile as a journey, where a person goes and comes back. So to use this verse in that fashion is permissible.
