The custom that is prevalent where people gather specifically to read the Koran, then after that everyone part takes in a collective meal, the scholars have prohibited this custom, because it is against the principles of the law. However, if the individuals of a house gather unceremoniously and do this to send the reward to the deceased, then it is allowed. If the food has been made specifically for the purpose of feeding the people who read the Koran on this occasion, then such a food is not permissible for rich people, relatives, and the members of the house to consume. It would be the right of only the poor people to consume such a food. Because it is a charity and charity must be given to them. There is a difference between reading the Koran and making the food to feed the poor people with an intention of reward they are not interconnected.
