Preferred Salaat time Women

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by ShariahBoard.org

Assalamualaikum,

People say “awwal waqt par namaz parhna.. ye Allah ko zyada pasand he.” Is that true? Also is there any ثواب كا فرق if we pray a while later than awwal waqt? Is there any ayat or ahadeeth about awwal waqt par namaz?

Jazakallah

Praying Salaat when the prescribed time enters is Afzal (more rewarding) for women. It is related by Hazrat Umm e Farwa R.A. in Sunan Abi Daood that Nabi S.A.W. has told praying Salaat when the time enters to be one of the most Afzal ‘Amal among the Afzal A’amaal.

As far as the reward is concerned, the reward of Salaat itself is the same whether one prays when the prescribed time enters or little later, however, the reward of Afzaliyat will not be achieved by delaying.

It is to be noted that, for the men, praying Salaat early or late is told in the Ahadith keeping in view the Salaat with Jamaat and other prudent measures.
