Does simply entering a tub filled with water and coming out satisfy the requirements for ghusl?

I was wondering whether it is permissible to perform ghusl for exiting the state of janabah by first removing najasa from the body and then jumping in a bath tub filled with water? In other words, does simply entering a tub filled with water and coming out satisfy the requirements for ghusl? I am asking this because if there is little time left to catch a prayer (especially Fajr) then it will be much quicker to do ghusl in this way, rather than to pour water from the shower.

Yes it would be permissible to perform a ghusl by merely immersing oneself in a body of water such as a bath tub. One would of course also have to ensure that one cleans one’s nose and rinses one’s mouth. (Maraqi al-Falah)

I would, however, contend the suggestion that this would be quicker than just having a regular shower. By the time one fills up a bath tub with sufficient water one would have nearly completed one’s shower. It would also be safer to have a shower as the slightest amount of filth (najasa) on one’s body would instantly render the water impure and the ghusl invalid.

And Allah knows best.
