Are they from the Ahlul Bait?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Mahmoodiyah

Question:

What do or is their any proof or authentic view from the time of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam to the time of Sheikh Abul Hasan Al Maturidee if our blessed mothers the Wives of the  prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam are included in the Ahle bait?

Answer:

From the time of the prophet (S.A.W.) until today, the preferred opinion amongst majority of the Mufassireen and Muhaditheen is that the wives of Rasoolullah (S.A.W.) are included in the Ahlul Bait. The context of the following verses is sufficient evidence in this regard: O women of the Nabi!  (S.A.W.) You are unlike the common women if you exercise self-abstinence.”

“It is only the will of Allah that He removes the impurities from you (O) members of the family, and keeps you pure and clean.”
