Can the Skin of the slaughtered animal be sold?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria
Assalaamualaikum, What do the respected Ulama and the reverend Mufties say about this i.e, Some of the Madrasa people decide with the traders well before the days of Qurbani that the skin of the slaughtered animal would be sold to them on an agreed price. Is it correct to do transactions like this? Does this fall within the ruling of Bai e Ma’doom (Sale of unavailable item) or just a promise to sell? If this is a promise to sale what would be the ruling in Shari’a for breaking the promise?

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent and the Most Merciful
Finalizing transactions as mentioned here is not a sale but a promise to sale and it is a sin to renege unnecessarily from a promise, hence it is essential to refrain from it.

Allah knows best.
