Is it permissible to eat food cooked by Hindus?

Something Halal will not become Haram if a non-muslim cooks it. Hence if the food cooked by a hindu or any other non-muslim is pure and Halal, then it is permissible to eat it. But this is not a good habit so one should avoid it.
