What is the law for taking pictures on cellphones?

According to our research, as long as digital photos are not printed out it is not deemed as unlawful, whether it is on a cellphone or a computer. However, if these pictures consist of unlawful things; (such as) women, non-mahrams etc. then just like it is not permissible to look at them externally (i.e. physically), it is not permissible to look at them from a computer or cellphone etc.
