الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

Yes. there are number of Ahadees available with regard to omission of Raf’a Yadain except in Thakbeer e Thahreema. Ulemas have declared it as excellent and preferable due to more conformity with Qur’an, more authenticity and for the reason that it had been the practice of last stages of Rasoolullahi Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam. Clarification is thus; that in the initial stages Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam used to do Raf’a Yadain in every standing and sitting posture to the extent that he even did so before and after going to Sajda. Consequently, as and when the orders of observing tranquility in Namaz descended raising hands in Namaz too was abandoned gradually to the extent that during the last stages of life of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam such Namaz too are established where he didn’t perform Raf’a Yadain except in Thkbeer e Thahreema. And there are some instances where strict prohibition of Raf’a Yadain too is recorded as per the narration of Sahih Muslim. Therefore, according to the Ahnaf, omitting of Raf’a Yadain except in Thakbeer e Thahreema is Masnoon and excellent, and, based on evidences, preference is accrued for it. Given below are some Ahadees for further references.

In Thirmizi Vol 1, p 59 :Hadhrath Abdullah bin Mas’ood Radhiyallahu Anhu says, “Should I not show you how Rasoolullahi Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam performed Namaz?” and went on performing Namaz. Only in Thakbeer e Thahreema he did Raf’a Yadain. Imam Thirmizi says that this Hadees is Hasan and many of the Sahabas of Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam and Thabi’een and this is the saying of Sufiyan Thowri and of people of Kufa.

In Muslim Vol 1, p 181 : It is narrated by Jabir bin Samurah Radhiyallahu Anhu that Rasooulullah Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam came towards us (while we were performing Namaz and we were doing Raf’a Yadain. In a detestable manner he said) Why do I see you all raising hands in Namaz like the tails of wild horses. Be quiet and tranquil in Namaz.

In Abu Daud Vol 1, p 109 – It is narrated from Hadhrath Bara’u Radhiyallahu Anhu that Rasoolullahi Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam used to raise his hands up to the ears when he begins to perform Namaz and does not repeat it.

In Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaiba Vol 1, p 237 – Mujahid Rahimahullah says “I peformed Namaz behind Hadhrath Ibn Umar Radhiyallahu Anhu he did not do Raf’a Yadain anywhere except in the First Thakbeer of Namaz”.

In A’ala us Sunan Vol 3 p 53 – Hadhrath Abdullah bin Mas’ood Radhiyallahu Anhu says “I have performed Namaz behind Hadhrath Rasoolullahi Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam, Hadhrath Abu Bakr Siddeeque Radhiyallahu Anhu and Hadrath Umar Radhiyallahu Anhu and they did not raise hands any where except after the beginning of the Namaz.”
