I wanted to know about Bahar e Shari’ath, بہار شریعہ کتاب

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmathullah
I wanted to know about Bahar e Shari’ath, the book based on Islamic Jurisprudence, whether it is correct or not? Ulama of Barelvi Sect. accept this book unanimously. Further, according to the preface of the book, the author Mufthi Amjad Ali Sahib himself has established Bai’ath (spiritual covenant) with Mufthi Ahmad Raza Khan. Please reply in detail. If the book is agreed upon then where is the contradiction?

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

IN THE NAME OF ALLAH, THE MOST BENEFICENT AND THE MOST MERCIFUL
Although this book which consists Fiqhi branches of Hanafi School of Thoughts, is correct but, in its Section of Dogmas and Beliefs, certain such matters as well are found which are totally contrary to the explicit presentations of Qur’an and Hadees (just as the one extracted and presented herewith), due to which it is necessary to refrain from studying or referring this book. Therefore the questioner should keep the book “Behesthi Zewar” under his reference for this purpose as this a very simple, easy to understand authentic book, and the purpose of compiling the book itself was fulfilling the religious needs of the general public.

Extract from Bahar e Shari’ath (Vol 1 p22)

“Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam is the absolute ‘Second in Command’ of Allah the Almighty. The whole world is made to be at the disposal of Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam. He may do whatever he wishes; take from whomever whatever he wishes; give whatever whomever he wishes; no one in the world could turn down his command; the whole world is under his command; and he is not under the command of anyone except his Rab; he is the master of total mankind; one who does not believe him to be the master will be deprived of the sweetness of Sunnat; all the lands are owned by him; all the heavens are his estates; the kingdom of the heavens and the earth is at the decree of Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam; keys of Jannath and Jahannam are given to his holy hands; sustenance, well-being and all kind of grants are distributed from the Court of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam; Dunya and Akhira are parts of his gifts; rulings of Shar’ia is given to his possession. He legalizes what he wishes and prohibits what he wishes and exempts any obligation he likes.

Allah knows best.
