If any impure thing strikes on cloth will it become pure by washing once?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria

Assalamu Alaikum! If any impure thing strikes on cloth will it become pure by washing once? Is it necessary to scoure the cloth? To which extent the cloth should be squeezed? Thanks.

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

The way of cleansing the unclean cloth is; it is essential to remove the traces of apparent impurity if found any, and the effects thereof. And the best way is to wash it three times and squeeze off as much as possible. Even it is permissible that, if it is washed only once and the dominant probability is that it has become clean. Whereas in situations where traces of impurity are not apparent, it is necessary in Shari’a to wash the cloth three times and to squeeze off every time to the extent that dripping of drops would stop. Hence by doing this cloth would become clean and pure.
