Religion of parents of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria

A person told me that the parents of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) were resurrected by him and he had made them recite the Kalimah. I would like to know if this is correct. If this is false then can you explain to me if his parents were already Muslims (or faithfuls of their time)? Jazakallah Khair

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

Let it be known that sayings of the learned Ulamas about the Eeman of the blessed parents of Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam are different due to different narrations in this regard. Since the subject matter is so subtle and delicate, observing silence in this matter is (considered as) more safe among the researchers of Ahnaf. Also it is the safe and peaceful implementation. Therefore engaging in these subjects and creating conflicts and disturbances could tantamount to ruin one’s Eeman and to injure the feelings of the believers unnecessarily whereas these are subjects about which no question will be asked either in Qabr or in Hashr. Therefore it is necessary to avoid engaging in such things and wasting one’s time.

Allah knows best.
