Is this Hadith authentic?
Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) says:
“When ‘Umar accepted Islam, Jibril descended and said, ‘O Muhammad! The inhabitants of the sky have rejoiced at Islam of ‘Umar”
Answer:
Imam Ibn Majah (rahimahullah) and other Muhaddithun have recorded this narration. The authenticity is debated, however ‘Allamah Busiri (rahimahullah) has declared the chain weak.
