Kindly enlighten me on whether this is suitable for practice?
Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) would recite the following du’a when going to the Masjid:
اللهم اجعلني أقرب من تقرب إليك وأوجه من توجه إليك وأنجح من سألك وطلب إليك
Allahummaj’alni aqraba man taqarraba ilayka wa awjaha man tawajjaha ilayka wa anjaha man sa-alaka wa talaba ilayka
Translation: O Allah! Make me [among] the closest from all those who seek Your closeness , the most focused from all those who turn their focus to You, the most successful of those who ask of You and search for You.

Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration in Kitabud Du’a and Al Mu’jamul Kabir, on the authority of Sayyidah Ummu Salamah (radiyallahu ‘anha). The version of Al Mu’jamul Kabir has slight variation in the wording.

Hafiz Ibn Hajar Al ‘Asqalani (rahimahullah) has declared the chain weak.

Imam Ibnus Sunni (rahimahullah) has also recorded the following version with a weak chain:
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) says, “When Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) would enter the Masjid on Friday, he would take hold of the sides of the door [of the Masjid] and say the following:
اللهم اجعلني أوجه من توجه إليك، وأقرب من تقرب إليك، وأفضل من سألك ورغب إليك
Allahummaj ‘alni awjaha man tawajjaha ilayka wa aqraba man taqarraba ilayka wa afdala man sa-alaka wa ragiba ilayka
Translation: O Allah! Make me [among] the most focused from all those who turn their focus to You, make me the closest from all those who seek Your closeness and the best of those who ask and are desirous of You
(‘Amalul Yawmi Wal Laylah of Ibnus Sunni, Hadith: 375, Al Adhkar, Hadith: 504)
This du’a is suitable to recite.
