Abu Barzah’s (radiyallahu ‘anhu) comments regarding women leaving the home

Is this Hadith authentic?

Abu Barzah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) came [home] and did not find his Ummu Walad in the house. They [the inmates in the house] said that she has gone to the Masjid. When she came, he screamed at her and exclaimed: “Verily, Allah has prohibited women from emerging [from the home]. He has commanded them to remain firmly inside the house, and that they should not follow a janazah, and that they should not go to the Masjid, and that they should not go for Jumu’ah.”

Answer

Imam Ibn Abi Hatim (rahimahullah) has cited this narration on the authority of Sayyidah Nailah (radiyallahu ‘anha).

(Tafsir Ibn Abi Hatim, Surah Al Ahzab, Verse: 32)

This copy of Tafsir Ibn Abi Hatim does not cite any chain of narrators.

However, the issue regarding women offering Salah at home is well supported through other narrations. See here and here.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
