Mufthi Sahib Assalamu Alaikum!
I wish to know whether there is a possibility of forgiveness for those who commit suicide? Are their souls bursting in fire?

Committing suicide, although is based on a very grave sin and a Haram act and there are very grave punishments mentioned in Ahadees e Mubaraka for such a person, but in spite of all these, if the person concerned is a Muslim, it is hoped from Allah the Almighty that He will forgive him due to his being a Muslim and possession of Kalima even though after suffering for a very long period in punishment.
