Are Muslims Allowed To Wear Clothing That Has Crucifix Crosses Even Though They Are Very Small?

Question:

I have noticed that some brands have very small crosses as part of their logo on their clothing, normally on top of a crown (for example Real Madrid football club). As Muslims are we allowed to wear these items of clothing as they have crosses even though they are very small?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

It will not be permissible to wear any clothing or logo that has a clear crucifix cross on it- as for crosses that are embedded within a design and are not distinguishable as a crucifix that will be fine.

The Prophet’s [sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam] wife Aa’ishah [radhiAllahu anha] tells us that “The Prophet [sallAllahu alaihi wa sallam] never left anything in the house that had a cross on it without erasing it.”

The crucifix is a defining feature of Christianity and their heretic belief that Jesus [peace be upon him] is the son of God who was killed on the cross. Most crucifix crosses are typically a cross shape with the top vertical line shorter than the lower like on the RMFC logo, however, this is not exclusive and depends on the design and context.
