Can a Man Wear a Silver Rolex Watch in Which the Hands Are Made of Gold

Question:

Can a man wear a silver Rolex watch in which the hands are made of gold?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

Men are only allowed to wear silver rings and the silver content should not exceed one mithqaal (4.374 grams). Besides silver rings, men are not allowed to wear any gold or silver[1]. Hence, it is not permissible for men to wear silver watches.

A watch from a metal other than gold and silver would be permissible and there being gold hands in the watch would be permissible as long as they are not touching the skin. Similarly, gold-plating is also permissible [2].

Only Allah knows best.
