Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

Question:

I have a question about a man not praying in masjid without any excuse:

Is his prayer acceptable?

May Allah grant scholars with more respect and rizq for providing such service.

Thanks for the answer in advance.

Answer

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Prayer in congregation is wajib according to the majority of the Hanafi scholars and therefore should not be missed or abandoned without a valid reason.[1]

If a person misses the congregational prayer in the mosque and performs the prayer individually it will be completed, however the person maybe sinful for missing the congregational prayer without any valid excuse.[2]
