A few weeks before, one of my hall-mate asked me that why I say Eid prayer with additional 6 takbirs instead of 12? Did the holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) say a particular prayer/amal in different ways? Why the way of doing the same amal in different madhhab is different, there should be only one method of practicing prayer, and so why we follow madhhab etc? Please inform me the answers of these confusing questions of Ahl Hadith people. Please answer with references.

The hadith of 12 takbir is weak while the hadith of 6 takbir is strong. Ahnaf follow strong hadith. If you want to know more about it, you should study E’la al-Sunan and Bazlul Majhood.
