Should I ask my manager and owner to remove the beer boxes, even though it may upset them?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I?m a Muslim working in a gas station in Calif. USA. My manager and the owner are good Muslims. Both helped me a lot when I first came to this country a year ago. We don’t sell any liqueur or lottery. The mother company keeps pushing the owner to sell liqueur or he would loose the store. Today; the manager bought a few beer boxes and put them on the shelf at more expensive price than the liqueur store next door so nobody would buy them. He told me we have to do it till we pass the inspection by the mother company. I?m afraid if I ask them to leave they would get upset. They would think that I?m showing off that I?m more religious than them because they already told me we won’t sell them. Also; it’s not easy to find a job nowadays especially with good people like them. What should I do? Please answer me as soon as possible.

Answer

(Fatwa: 2022/D=429/k=1431)

As it is haram to brew wine and give someone to drink in the same way, selling wine is haram as well. The holy Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) has cursed all these people. Hence, if your manager has firm intention not to sell it, then you can work with him and there is no need to leave the job. And if you fear that his intention might change, then you should intend to leave the job and should not think what he will think about you. It is must for you to save your iman.

Also when the inspection is done the manager should damage it because it is not lawful to take its price.
