Assalamu alaikum. I would like to know solution to the following mas’ala under the light of Qur’anul Kareem and Ahadithun Nabavi sallallah alaihiwasallam. A couple got married (Nikah) long ago (say 40 years ago) with a MEHR of certain amount for example Rs. 5000/-. Till date he has not paid the MEHR. Now he wants to pay the MEHR to his wife. The mas’alah is should he pay the MEHR of Rs. 5000/- or any other way.
