Is it true that Hadhrat Umar (RA) rejected Hadhrat Ali’s (RA) compiled Quran?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I want to ask that I have come to know that after the demise of the beloved Prophet (SAW) Hadhrat Ali (RA) compiled Quran but Hadhrat Umar (RA) rejected. Is this true? Please reply soon.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

(Fatwa: 100/50/B=2/1438)

After the sad demise of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Hadhrat Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) told Hadhrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) that a large number of the Qaris of the Holy Quran had been killed in the battle of Yamama, I am afraid that more heavy casualties may take place among the Qurra’ on other battlefields, whereby a large part of the Quran may be lost; therefore I suggest to order the Quran to be preserved. Hadhrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Hadhrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), “How can you do something which Allah’s Apostle (may peace and blessings of God be upon him) did not do?” Hadhrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) kept on urging him to accept his proposal till Allah opened his chest for it and he began to realize the good in the idea which Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) had realized. So this project was assigned to Hadhrat Zaid Ibn Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) and it was announced that those who have the Quranic verses and surahs they must bring it with two witnesses. Thus Hadhrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) preserved all the Quran. Further, during the caliphate of Hadhrat Usman (may Allah be pleased with him) several copies of the same were prepared and spread in various Islamic countries for learning and teaching.

What you heard, it is not correct.

Allah knows Best!
